Birth photography is beautiful. It is not gross or distasteful. It is truly a memorable experience for everyone involved. The emotions are real and there is much more to it than the actual moment of birth. SO. MUCH. MORE. It’s the birth environment, the light in the room, the details, the comings and goings of those who are there. It’s mom holding on to their S/O in pain, someone special offering a supportive hand and the nurses preparing and helping mom push. It’s the baby placed on moms chest for the first time, the tears of joy, pure adrenaline, the cutting of the cord and babies little toes and fingers. It’s the first time a sibling meets a new baby brother or sister with a look of wonder. It’s all of those things put together. It’s the journey of a birth day. It’s the making of a family. It’s special. And if a family chooses so, it deserves to be captured. Besides your wedding day, the birth of your child is one of the most important days of your life and happens so fast that most moms don’t remember everything if asked. Allow me to capture this special time in your life to be able to look back on. Birth and labor are very unpredictable. These are not typical portrait sessions. Unless you have an induction date (and baby decides to wait until then) I will be ON CALL for your session. I will shoot glimpses of your active labor as well as the birth unfolding naturally.

I will come to the hospital after baby is born and you are settled in a room. This is a great alternative for being able to capture family and friend reactions as well as capturing baby’s little details before going home.
